So Called Development!!

That Person held him tight. The blood wasn't stopping only. He yelped with pain. He tried to give him first aid with water and a torn cloth hanging out of his dirty bag.

That small harmless creature which was a toy for those naughty kids roaming around with pebbles just before few minutes back, was now a piece of amazement lying in the lap of that person who was known as mentally retarded non existent person in our educated but thoughtless society.

He became calm after sometime as the pain was eased a bit.

That person stood up and left with a smile on his way.

I looked back at the relieved injured dog lying on the pavement silently; and then walked off with moist eyes, wondering where our humanity has lost over the time since we call ourselves developed and educated.

Wasn't that person more thoughtful than we are or we are just nothing more than robots any more?

  2. Ah, I suspect a truly developed and educated society wouldn't call it as such.

  4. Its not our education that tells not to take care of animals. Perhaps we all have gone through moral science lectures in school. It is our incapacity to listen and pay any heed. Its our sadistic tendencies that lead us astray on that path, amusement? Not at all.

Nice post, because all is not lost and this would be a worthy contribution to that.

    Cheers,

  10. An excellent story and reminder that cruelty isn't an exclusive property of the downtrodden. Sometimes the "least" of humanity are the kindest.
